1. Athlete’s Foot

**Description:** A common fungal infection that causes itching, burning, cracking, and peeling, typically found between the toes due to damp, warm conditions.

Other Treatment Steps:

Preparation: Chop a one-foot-long portion of the Makabuhay vine.

Boiling:Place the chopped vine in five glasses of water and boil for fifteen minutes. Let the decoction cool slightly until warm enough for soaking.

Soaking: Soak the infected foot in the hot decoction for fifteen minutes or as tolerated.

Treatment While Soaking:While soaking, gently rub cotton applicators between the toes to remove dead skin and prick small blisters (vesicles). Then soak the foot for ten minutes more.

Athlete’s foot is very **contagious**. It can easily spread to your fingers and your other foot.

Do not use the **same towel** to dry other parts of your body after drying your feet.

Use **cotton applicators** (and dispose of them properly) to remove dead skin.

Wash the basin used for soaking very well with **soap and hot water** after each use.

Possible **allergic reactions** in rare cases. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Consult your healthcare provider** before use, especially if the infection is widespread or accompanied by open wounds or fever.

Not recommended for **pregnant or breastfeeding women** without medical advice.
